FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY CALL (336) 395-1317

Dr. Clark believes that decisions regarding your face should be carefully considered. His consultation is an educational endeavor. You will learn about his surgical philosophies, see before and after photographs of patients who have had similar procedures, and meet separately with the Patient Care Coordinator (Windy) to discuss financial arrangements.
Dr. Clark will also want to learn about you and your goals with respect to facial surgery/procedures. He will review your medical and surgical history in
detail and thoroughly examine your facial structures. Your job is to gather as much information as you possibly can, so that you have as complete an understanding of your treatment plan/recommendations as is possible.
Philosophy #1: Patient Safety
Cosmetic surgery/procedures are THE most elective procedures. Safety must be the paramount consideration before proceeding with any facial treatment. Please be prepared to discuss all of your medical information, including and prior procedures in the face and neck, any allergies to medications or products, any excessive bruising or issues that may interfere with normal healing. Smoking is something that adversely affects healing and in many cases, Dr. Clark will insist that you quit smoking for a period of time before doing surgery.
Another safety consideration is the type of anesthesia that may be used for the surgery or procedure. In most cases, local anesthesia is used with or without a mild sedative. For some patients and for some procedures (such as most rhinoplasties), general anesthesia is preferred.
Philosophy #2: Patient Confidentiality
Your privacy is something we take very seriously. We designed and built our building with that in mind. There is a private entrance at the rear of our building for "well" patients. Only patients who will be seen for Cosmetic Consultations, Skincare Consultations, or for Massage Therapy use this waiting room.
We will request that you be cleared medically before any procedure that would require general anesthesia. Your primary care physician knows the fine details of your medical health, and as such is the best resource for medical clearance.
We have opted against publishing before and after photographs on the internet because of the concern over patient privacy issues. However, some patients have been gracious enough to allow their photographs to be used for evaluation. These photographs will be reviewed at your in-office consultation.
Philosophy #3: Natural Results
Dr. Clark believes that the "overdone" look is to be avoided at all costs, whether in facelift surgery, nasal surgery, eyelid surgery, or any other procedure performed by Dr. Clark. A significant part of the consultation is spent evaluating whether your goals and expectations can be met without creating an "operated" look.
There are techniques that are implemented to avoid the obvious telltale signs of plastic surgery. Mastery of these techniques requires extensive training and experience.
